sticks up so that they are touching and even at both ends. Carefully, put a strip of masking tape across the top and bottom edges of the sticks to hold them together.
Turn the ‘puzzle’ over and draw a picture or design (each stick must have part of the picture). Remove the tape; mix up the pieces; do the puzzle. Hold the ‘puzzle pieces’ together with a rubber band for storage.
Spray Murals
3 - 9 yrs.
SUPPLIES outdoor wall/fence space where paper can be hung; large strips mural paper; wide masking tape; kids in bathing suits; 2 pump spray bottles for each colour paint: red, blue, yellow liquid paint; water; hose
METHOD: Tape mural paper to outdoor wall or fence. Dress kids in bathing suits. Thin liquid paint so that it flows freely from the pump bottle. Kids spray paint on mural paper. Clean up area with hose after activity.

Fence Weaving
4 1/2 - 9 yrs.
SUPPLIES:
5’ square area of chain link fence; variety of weaving materials cut into strips: fabric, yarn, crepe paper streamers, adding machine paper, cardboard and wallpaper scraps & anything else that can be used to weave; markers; scissors; camera
METHOD: Measure the spaces in the chain link fence to get an approximate width. Help children cut materials into appropriate size strips. Have kids decorate adding machine paper with markers. Kids weave materials into fence. Take a picture of the finished work! Share.
A Straw Horn
5 - 10+ yrs
SUPPLIES: per horn - 3” piece plastic driking straw; scissors; ruler.
METHOD: Flatten out 1” of one end of the straw, creasing the sides with the ruler until it is fairly flat. Trim the flattened end to an inverted ‘V’. Put this end in your mouth, just behind your lips. Blow hard. (Sometimes it’s a bit difficult at first). Try other lengths of straws. The shorter the straw, the higher the sound.
