THAT SMELLS … GOOD
You've probably heard it said that our sense of smell is seriously powerful for evoking memories. Try it. You'll see it's true.
More than a spontaneous lift, creating a happy; secure; playful; amorous; empowered … state can be easily and purposely triggered by a scent. To trigger a particular emotion, you smell a scent that is an emotional match to a previous experience with that emotion embedded in it.
EXAMPLE: Pretend that visits to your beloved Nana's place frequently involved the scent of oranges, grapefruits, roses … If, during those many visits, you felt safe, loved, happy … you can conjure the same feelings just by taking a whiff of 'oranges'; 'grapefruits'; 'basil'; 'rosemary'; 'pine' … or whatever scent is charged with those feelings.
Besides evoking memories with scent, powerful healing can be achieved with essential oil aromatherapy.
Essential oils are fragrant, oily substance that is extracted from plant matter, including – leaves, seeds, fruits, grasses and flower petals. The oils can be employed for physical, emotional and spiritual help and healing by a variety of methods, including – direct application by massage, in a diffuser, as a spray mist, in the bath.
Aromatherapy is an extensive subject that deserves investigation for health and well-being. Credible information can be accessed through the internet and/or local health food outlets.
