If I ever needed proof that life after death exists, our spirit cat is it.

My lady (Tenaj DaCosta) and I have a spirit cat who travels with us.  

I first felt this cat when laying in bed in an Edmonton, AB hotel room during Fall 2004.  My lady was in the bathroom and I felt cat steps across the bed, walking toward me.  I was mystified and a bit in shock, because I knew we had left our six cats at home in another Province.  I froze as the cat walked across the bed.  I thought I'd sit up suddenly to see this cat, who must have somehow gotten into the hotel room.  I sat up and... nothing!

My heart rate was up.  Now I was then feeling a bit silly,... but trusted that I had experienced what I did.  So, next question... Do I tell my lady about this silliness?  I am a country boy after all.  

But I LIVE with this woman and see, nearly everyday, that she has amazing spiritual understanding.  By this time she'd come out of the bathroom.  I pump up my courage and say, "ahh... I'd like to tell you something..." 

"yes?"

I'm the 'pull-the-bandaid-off-quick kind of guy'. I decide to just spill it.  

"I know this sounds silly, but I just felt a cat walk across the bed".

"Me too" she said in a matter of fact way.

Well... she is always surprising me :) even when I should know better.  We talked about the experience and concluded that Spirit Cat is a cat who once lived, in the physical, with my lady. Spirit Cat had been visiting her before we met.  

Spirit Cat may visit us when we are home but I couldn't know.  We have six cats who live and sleep with us.  They often walk across the bed.

The next time we felt Spirit Cat, was in a hotel room in Toronto, ON.  And the next was in our favorite hotel on Vancouver Island, BC.  Those times I laid still with my eyes closed and enjoyed the experience until the cat left.  

It's interesting that a spirit cat can exert enough weight to feel like a physical cat.  I've lived with cats all my life and have developed a theory that they have the ability to vary their weight, making themselves heavier or lighter at will.  I've seen some amazing jumps and acrobatics. They also have the ability to thump across the floor like a horse.

Today, September 18, 2009, was our most recent meeting with Spirit Cat.  I was taking a nap in my Tenaj's studio.  I woke up and felt the cat steps (again, no physical cats around).  When the cat left I turned over to see my lady, but she had left the bed because I was snoring.  I got up and walked out to where my lady was feaverishly typing.  I waited until she came 'up for air' (I'm a writer too, so I know not to interupt the creative zone).  I told her about the cat steps and she confirmed that she had felt them earlier too.

A spirit cat... who knew?  

OK, my lady knew :) but this is a little strange to get used to for a country boy.  

I'm a very capable handy-man, an inventor by occupation.  I work with physical energies everyday.  This evidence of energies that we don't yet know how to measure is daunting. Often, as I make a discovery of how the invisible supports the visible, my lady says (with a smile and a twinkle) "Catch up already".
