A minute's success pays the failure of years -Robert Browning |
I had "coffee" with my nephew and his girlfriend, last night at Timmy's.
I was asking them about their recent travels with a bus they bought and about how my niece was doing in her studies for her Ph.D. in Anthropology(I thought she had gone to Ontario to continue her schooling but apparently she had decided she wanted to pay off her student loans from her Bachelor of Anthropology first). Ends up she has gone to Korea to teach English as a second language.
Back at home later, I thought to myself that I envied them both because at their age(in their 20's), I would not have had the confidence to do the traveling that they both have done, especially not the traveling overseas that my niece has done. She has been to Ireland, Australia, England and now Korea.
I am pleased for them both because this means that they do not suffer from the anxiety and lack of confidence which has held me back from doing so many things that I wanted to try over the years.
Something else that I have been thinking about is what if the people who believe in God and those who believe in one consciousness, really believe in the same thing. If we think of God having made us in his image and he is energy, which we can not see, just as we can not see our consciousness, then what stops them from been one and the same. If God is energy and he is said to be with us at all times then through him, we could be connected as energy is around us in the very air we breathe at all times.
I heard of this "new" science recently, which is called Noetic Science. It is the study of one consciousness. I think that this would explain how a person in one place can know that another person they are close to has died without being told, or how someone knows they are going to get a call from a specific person in their life. I know personally there have been several times in my life when I have been thinking of call someone over a number of days and then when I go to the phone to call them it rings and they are at the other end. When I have expressed my surprise and tell them I was just about to call them, they are shocked or amazed.
I have had conversations with others about how important both what we think and what we talk about or say to others, is. If what we are saying/thinking is negative then we are putting out into the energy around us is negativity but if what we are saying/thinking is positive then what we are putting out into the energy around us is positivity.
Very well-known people have talked about how words have power. I for one am a believer in this, as well as that the way we look at someone can empower them(strengthen) or make them feel like crawling away or wishing that a hole would open up and they could fall in it and disappear(weaken). I would not say that looks can kill but they sure can tell the other person what you think about them, especially if you are pissed off at the person the look is directed at.
Anyway, these are some of my random thoughts.
