Ingredients

  • pita bread rounds and/or
  • bagels
  • art breads and/or

Instructions

Supplies:
sharp knife (long blade)
4 cookie sheets
air-tight container
Method:

Slice pita bread into 8 pie-shapes or tear apart into irregular pieces and separate into a single layer.  Slice art bread or bagels thinly (1/8 - 1/4" thickness).

Set the oven to 200° F.  Lay assorted bread pieces on the cookie sheets in a single layer. Dry the first side for 30 minutes.  Turn the pieces over and dry for another 30 minutes.  Add time if pieces are not fully dry.

Remove from oven. Allow to cool.  Store in an air-tight container for up to 1 month.  No need to refrigerate unless crisps have been dried with flavoured butter or oil.
